Itty Bitty a Day challenge – Day 2

So, I knew I wouldn’t have time this week to participate every day in the fun challenge over at the Unity Show and Tell page, but as luck would have it, the lawn was far too wet to try and cut this evening! Off to my craft table I went!

I discovered that I don’t do well with deadlines and my “mojo” seems to be more of a drop-in-when-it-feels-like-it rather than a by-invitation sort of guest. Took me ages to complete my card but I did finish. This first photo shows the stamping; I used Seashell Song and swiped my gelatos over it with a tiny bit of water to make it move. This is a second generation stamp to get rid of some of the blobbiness (hmm, blobbiness? I am sure there is a better word but it’s late and I’m tired — I’m sticking with blobby)

Then I embossed with clear powder and spritzed a little Biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist for some shimmer.

Finally, I layered my card with a kraft base and some Authentique papers from the Fresh collection.  Oh and I stamped the “thinking of you” sentiment at the bottom from the How You Doin’ set. I ran some distress ink around to define some edges. And there you have it! My Seashell Thinking of You card!!

Supplies: CTMH kraft cardstock, Authentique “Fresh” patterned papers, DCWV scalloped cardstock, Seashell Song itty bitty from Unity as well as How You Doin’, distress ink – Pumice stone, Faber-Castell gelatos – Red Cherry and Metallic Melon

A final note: this is my first attempt at blogging, please be gentle!! 😉

That is such a beautiful card! I’ve never worked the the Gelatos so I think maybe it’s time I give it a try! I think you did an excellent job on your blog by the way 🙂 I just started blogging about a week ago myself! xo Tina

Hi Laurie just saw your card over on the Show and Tell Page, and I have to say I love this. Your beautiful watercolor image drew me to it and I am such a big fan of Gelatos I use them on my cards heaps. Congrats on starting your new blog and I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks Danie! I started with a 4-pack of Gelatos and the next day ordered the set of 28! I did a 10min happy dance when they arrived! Just love ’em! I look forward to seeing more of your creations on the Unity page!

Seeing this card in the Unity Show & Tell group, I HAD to come see how you did it! I’ve never used Gelatos either but this is just gorgeous. Starting a blog is scary (I thought). Mine was idle (=not 1 single post for over a year) when I went through the death of my Mom, moving my Dad, blah, blah, blah. It’s all good now. Remember, just have fun with it.
